About the Satisfactory Calculator
The Satisfactory Calculator is a free production planner for the factory-building game Satisfactory. Choose any craftable item and a target output rate, and it works out the full production chain: how many of each machine you need, the raw resources per minute, and the total power draw.
How we calculate
For a target rate, we look up the item's standard recipe — its building, craft time, inputs, and outputs — and scale it to your requested output. Each ingredient is then solved the same way, recursively, until the chain bottoms out at raw resources (ore, water, oil, and so on). Machine counts are the exact fractional number needed at 100% clock speed; power is the sum of each machine's rated draw.
Where the data comes from
All recipes, rates, building assignments, and power values are derived from Satisfactory's own game data export (Docs.json) — not hand-entered estimates. We use the standard (default) recipes by default and let you switch to alternates, so the plan matches what you build in-game. We do not invent numbers; the few values not in the export (such as Somersloop slot counts) are taken from the official wiki and cross-checked against the game's own stated mechanics.
